Saturday January 1, 2011 Relax

January 1, 2011. What do you do to relax on New Year’s Day? My family’s long-time tradition is early rising, gin fizzes and the Rose Bowl Parade! This year, it will just be DH and me, but we will share champagne Mimosas, have a homemade breakfast and watch the parade from start to finish. Our kids, grown and gone, are off on their own adventures; Becca having a quick getaway with her family, and her cousin Wendy, in the snow of Soda Springs, CA., and David is vacationing in Tennessee, where we once lived. I love this kind of sleepy day – it is really cold out, snow even predicted in our riverside town! I have a huge stack of books, lots of teabags, and a warm dog (or two!) to curl up in my lap. The luxury of relaxation is special and cherished. Hope you have your own routines and pleasures!
